Reflecting on 2014 and 2015 resolutions.

2015

And if by magic it's that time again. Da dum. Happy New Year everyone! I don't know about you but  2014 has definitely flown by for me, in fact most years seem to go ridiculously quick nowadays. So here we go again with all the generic "new year, new me" cliches flying around. I will through it out there though and say that I do love a new year, however not for the "new me, new start" reasons or the ridiculous resolutions such as I will have a Victoria secrets models body in a month (although that would be nice!). Personally a new year acts as an end of a chapter for me and the chance to start the slates clean and begin another. It's a time where I can reflect on the past twelve months, evaluate it and make new goals, challenges and changes for the next...

Just to re-cap and perhaps bore you - here is what I ticked off from my 2014 resolutions:

 Graduate university with a 2.1
Save Money
Capture more memories
Improve my photography/blog regularly
Buy a new car
 Don't get walked over
Help stop bullying

I have to say I am quite proud of myself as out of seven resolutions I definitely ticked off a solid 6, however I do feel there still is room for improvements on some - hence the half a crossing out! So here are my resolutions for 2015 -

Integrate gym into my lifestyle

For me going to the gym is a chore, it is as simple as that. A rewarding chore if persistent at and I do feel 100x better once I have been but motivating myself to go regularly is the challenging part and so I really want to build myself into this "regular" routine this year. I wasn't in the best of shape for my holidays in 2014 because well ... I just simply couldn't be bothered but 2015 bikini body come at me, I am ready!

Save Money

Yes, I know - the old saving money resolution. Admittedly I am awful at saving but then again in all fairness I have been a student since forever and only now am I actually working full-time, so I do have an excuse of why I fail so miserably (sort of!). I must say I did make an improvement last year though - I brought one of those plastic tin's in which you cannot break into and managed to save a whole £300. Impressive huh? This year I will have money behind me for those rainy days!

Up my blogging game

Another same old same old resolution. I definitely feel that an improvement I did make over 2014 was making my picture quality slightly better - they are still no way to the standards I would like (yes, little miss perfectionist over here!) but when I look back to 2013 the difference is simply incomparable and a positive difference - which for me is very satisfying. Now my next mission is to keep motivated and blog as regular as possible! I really want to attend more blogging events as well this year.

Start reading books

I feel really bad saying this but I never read (unless Vogue and Elle counts!) - but apart from that I actually can't remember the last time I read a good book. I love reading, the escapism, the thrill, the excitement off what happens next and not wanting to put your book down because you are just dying with suspense. I miss that so I need to start incorporating it back into my life - perhaps a bedtime ritual? I'd love to hear some of your "must reads" or recommendations so get at me in the comments below!

Be successful with my business

During the end of 2014 I started up my own online clothing business - Eternal. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither is a business and as always good things take time and so to continue building my business and hopefully turn it into the start of something amazing is definitely a big aim for me! The response so far has been pretty dam good considering I only started it at the end of September but as always there are good days and bad days. So for now, I definitely want to remain focused, motivated and just see where it takes me.

What are your 2015 resolutions? Link your post below if you have done one similar.
